          The school 2016-2017 school year is coming to an end and some students may be in need of looking for new places to go to. In Sacramento, California where River City High School is located, there are many places to visit and spend time with friends and family. In this photo essay are 4 locations including, Old Sacramento, the Sacramento Zoo, the International Rose Garden, and the Sacramento Capitol. They are places that involve walking outside in the warm summer sun, where walking can get your daily exercise in.

Sacramento Zoo

Address: 3930 W Land Park Dr, Sacramento, CA 95822

Hours: Everyday at 9AM to 4PM

Admission: General- $14.95, Senior- $13.95, Child (2-11)- $9.95

The Sacramento Zoo is a place where families can spend the whole day in, with many activities and gift shops, as well as ice cream and food stands. After looking at the animals, there are playgrounds children can go on while the adults can sit on benches and take a relaxing break. Around the zoo there are several games volunteers have set up that can expand your knowledge about animals or the environment you live in. Towards the entrance/exit of the zoo there are a couple of gift shops to save your experience with small key-chains or souvenirs.

If you want to experience a one of a kind place, visit Old Sacramento. It’s a place where there’s a lot of attractions to see like museums, tours, rides, entertainment spots and theaters.After walking around there are several restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops to take a rest. There are even street performers you can watch during your visit. Moreover, it’s also a walking distance to California State Capitol Museum and Raley field (Home of the River Cats).

California State Capitol Museum Sacramento

International World Peace Rose Garden

Hours: Everyday from sunrise to sunset

With over 600 roses, this is a place to go for pretty pictures. You can take a fresh look at the colorful flowers. Although there are no activities, it’s a place to relax and enjoy nature. This garden was made to commemorate peace for women, children and families.
